Iran president calls on BRICS states to cut off relations with Zionist regime

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has said that the freedom-seekers across the world expect all the governments, especially BRICS member states to cut off political, economic and military relations with the Zionist regime.

President Raisi made the remarks addressing an online extraordinary meeting of BRICS leaders which was hosted by South Africa as the rotating president of the bloc on Tuesday where they explored ways to put an end to the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Noting that the US has made all international organizations useless, the Iranian president made some proposals to help stop the Zionist atrocities against Palestinians.

He called on the BRICS members to initiate a binding resolution in the UN General Assembly against the Zionist regime.

The president added that the Zionist regime has to be identified as a terrorist regime and its Army must be labeled a terrorist organization.

In addition to the Zionist regime, the US has to be also tried in the international court for crimes against humanity and child killing, President Raisi said.

He also urged the need for collective measures of BRICS members to break the siege of Gaza and to create a safe and permanent way into Gaza for the dispatch of humanitarian supplies.

The president stressed that the Palestinians’ legitimate right to self-defense and struggle to ensure the freedom of the occupied lands is supported by all the freedom-seeking governments and nations.
