Ben-Gvir proposed that the regime should execute Palestinian prisoners, but the relatives of mostly Israeli people, who were arrested by the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas on October 7, warned this proposal would endanger the lives of their loved ones.
In a Monday meeting, the relatives urged a Knesset panel to drop Ben-Gvir’s plan. The representatives called for all-out efforts to bring back their families and friends.
Hen Avigdori, whose wife and daughter were arrested, said, "Maybe instead of talking about the dead, talk about the living. Stop talking about killing Arabs. Talk about saving Jews. This is your job!"
Following the session, Ben-Gvir published a picture of himself when he was trying to hug one of the angry relatives at the Knesset. However, Israel Hayom newspaper reported that Gil Dickmann asked the Israeli minister to take his hand off the young man’s shoulder.
International negotiators have been working to seal a deal to pave the way for the release of around 240 captives; however, Hamas says the Israeli regime must release all Palestinian prisoners in return.
