Iran’s Police Chief, Iraqi interior minister review mutual cooperation

Baghdad, IRNA - Iran’s Police Chief Ahmad Reza Radan and Iraqi Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari have discussed cooperation between the two countries in the field of security, law enforcement, and police affairs.

Radan met and held talks with Al-Shammari in the Iraqi capital city of Baghdad on Saturday.

Referring to the magnificent holding of the Arbaeen trek, Radan thanked the Iraqi people and government for their deserved hosting of the Arbaeen pilgrims, just as the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei also thanked the Iraqi government and people.

Iran’s Police Chief expressed hope that security and police cooperation between the two countries in providing security and facilitating entry and exit, as well as services to the pilgrims of the Arbaeen trek will continue in the coming years.

Al-Shammari, for his part, referred to the memorandum of understanding between the two countries that is being implemented, expressing hope that during the visit of Iran’s Police Chief to Iraq, the two sides strengthen cooperation in the field of combating narcotics and fighting terrorism plus border control.

Pointing to the existing cooperation between the ministries of Iran and Iraq in all fields, he highlighted that the visit of Iran’s Police Chief to Iraq will lead to enhanced mutual cooperation in the field of intelligence and new planning for the future.
