Citing Egyptian and Western diplomatic sources, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed news website said on Sunday that the plan comes after the failure of an earlier plan to move Gaza residents to Egypt’s North Sinai Governorate.
“The new proposal is based on providing broad facilities to residents of the Gaza Strip through residency permits and job opportunities in the United States of America, a number of European countries, and some Arab countries, with priority given to the residents of northern Gaza,” an Egyptian diplomatic source claimed, according to the London based media outlet.
A Western diplomat also told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that some European capitals have agreed to the proposal but Arab countries are still mulling the plan.
“However, it can be said that it is an acceptable proposal, especially since these Arab countries need large numbers of workers,” the source added.
The report comes while at least 11,078 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip, including 4,506 children and 3,027 women, since the beginning of the Zionist regime’s devastating war on the besieged enclave over a month ago.
