-- 18m traveled by air during H1

Reza Nakhjavani, the CEO of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC) stated that more than 18.6 million air passengers have been dispatched and received from the country’s airports during the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21).
During the period, 165,747 landings and take-offs were conducted at the country’s airports and also more than 17.16 million domestic passengers were dispatched and received from the country’s airports through approximately 151,000 domestic flights.

--  Expansion of Gaza war ‘inevitable’: Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian warned on Thursday that expansion of the Israel-Hamas conflict has become “inevitable” due to the expansion of the intensity of Israel’s war against Gaza’s civilians.
“Due to the expansion of the intensity of the war against Gaza’s civilian residents, expansion of the scope of the war has become inevitable,” Amir-Abdollahian said in a telephone conversation with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. He had earlier warned about the spread of the war in the region.

-- Iranian Kiani claims gold at WT President’s Cup

Nahid Kiaini won a gold medal at the 2023 World Taekwondo President’s Cup – Asian region, with three other Iranians taking a bronze in Amman, Jordan.
The reigning world champion Kiani came out on top against the Chinese Taipei’s Su Po-Ya in the women’s -53kg final, collecting 40 points to edge closer to securing a berth at next year’s Paris Olympics.
Mobina Ne’matzadeh was beaten by Kiani in an all-Iranian semifinal and took the bronze of the weight class.

--  Islamophobia Reflected in French Art, Literature

Anti-Muslim sentiment in France, especially in the public sphere, has also been reflected in French art and literature, according to a Turkish scholar of multiculturalism. Nagihan Haliloglu, who teaches comparative literature at Istanbul’s Ibn Khaldun University, evaluated the impact of growing anti-Muslim sentiment on literature and art in France.
Haliloglu stated that anti-Muslim sentiment in the West is the result of social engineering.

--  Uzbekistan-Iran Trade Tops $240mn in 7 Months

Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) has reported that the value of trade exchanges between Iran and Uzbekistan during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 to October 22).
In the 7-month period, Iran exported more than 279,000 tons of products, valued at $189 million, to Uzbekistan. The Central Asian country has exported over 34,000 tons of goods to Iran, valued at $51 million.

--  Iran and Evolving Role of ECO in Regional Economy

Under the administration of President Ebrahim Raeisi which has adopted multilateral diplomacy as a centerpiece of its foreign policy, Iran has decided to strengthen cooperation with ECO countries in view of their enormous economic capacities.
On Thursday, the president attended the 16th ECO summit in Tashkent under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The ECO is one of the oldest economic cooperation organizations in the developing world, dating back to the 1960s. The ten ECO member countries with an area of 8 million square kilometers and more than half a billion people have forged close interaction over the years.

--  Foolad edge Aluminum at PGPL

 Foolad football team defeated Aluminum 1-0 in the 2023/24 Iran’s Persian Gulf Pro League (PGPL) on Friday. Sasan Ansari scored the only goal of the match in the 46th minute at the Foolad Arena in Ahvaz.

It was a vital win for Foolad since the two-time PGPL champions move up four places in the table. Earlier in the day, Gol Gohar defeated Mes Rafsanjan 2-0, Paykan shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Shams Azar and Malavan were held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Esteghlal Khuzestan.

--  Iranian “Destiny” wins at 9th Peloponnese International Documentary Festival in Greece

The Iranian documentary “Destiny” directed by Yaser Talebi has won the Best Foreign Film Award at the 9th Peloponnese International Documentary Festival in Greece.

According to the festival announcement on November 9, “it is a moving film that tenderly invites us into the close relationship between a young girl and her disabled father. The narration of each daily movement is transformed into a sign of love and the inner beauty of the two protagonists is seen even in their choices in life, towards each other, full of wisdom”.

--  Iranian universities among top universities in National Taiwan Universities Rankings

The Performance Rankings of Scientific Papers for World Universities, released by National Taiwan University (NTU), has listed 18 Iranian universities among the top 500 institutions of the world in 2023.

Tehran University of Medical Sciences won the best rank among Iranian universities. It ranked 16 in pharmacology and toxicology, Mehr reported. Also, the University of Tehran ranked 25 in Energy Science and Engineering, 27 in Mechanical Engineering, and 31 in Chemical Engineering.
