The Iranian defense minister made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday with Turkish Ambassador to Iran Hicabi Kırlangıc.
Noting that enhanced cooperation between Iran and Turkiye would benefit the entire region and the Muslim world, he stressed the need for coordinating the stances of the two countries regarding the most important regional and international issues.
Referring to the Zionist atrocities in Gaza Strip, the Iranian defense minister underlined the need for regional and Muslim countries to boycott the exports of energy and fuel to the Zionist regime, as well as imposition of other economic and air restrictions.
He also touched upon the developments in the Caucasus region, noting that further cooperation and negotiations between Iran and Turkiye can bring balance and stability to the region.
Iran strongly believes that changing the historical and geopolitical borders would be harmful to the security of the region, the minister said.
