Int’l community starts probing into Zionists' crimes in Gaza: Iranian official

Tehran, IRNA – The deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs has announced beginning of the investigation led by the international community into the Zionist regime of Israel’s crimes against the people in Gaza and the Palestinian civilians.

Ali Najafi made the announcement while speaking to IRNA, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported on Saturday.

In his remarks, Najafi elaborated on the Islamic Republic's diplomatic and legal measures towards the Zionists mass crimes against the Palestinians.

Palestine which is recognized as a Palestinian authority has joined the International Criminal Court and has argued against those crimes, so the prosecutor has a duty to investigate the case, Najafi underlined.

As he noted, a documentary about the Zionist criminal acts including bombardment of the people in Gaza, targeting the residential units and hospitals, mosques and churches and its other crimes are being made.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran pursues the case through various channels including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.”

According to Najafi, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation has recently held an extraordinary meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and another meeting at the level of foreign ministry is slated for the near future.
