-- Iran, China stress accelerating execution of 25-year strategic agreement
First Vice President of Iran Mohammad Mokhber and Chinese Premier Li Qiang emphasized on accelerating the implementation of the 25-year strategic agreement between the two countries while the two officials held a meeting on the sidelines of the Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek.
There are many areas of cooperation between Tehran and Beijing, Mokhber said, adding: “If we focus on these areas and pave the ground for the private sectors of the two countries, we will reach a favorable point in realizing the goals of the 25-year agreement.”
-- Iran, India to finalize contract on development of Chabahar port
A contract will be finalized with India on the development of Iran’s southeastern port of Chabahar within the next two weeks, an Iranian deputy minister of roads said.
Ali Akbar Safaei — who is also the CEO of the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) of Iran — announced that the previously agreed details of the contract between Iran and India on the development of Chabahar have changed.

The 6th edition of a Tabriz national street theater festival began in Tabriz, with theater groups from various provinces across the country gathering at the historical and cultural site of El Goli Park, in Iran’s northwestern province of East Azarbaijan.
The festival includes the participation of theater groups from East Azarbaijan, West Azarbaijan, Zanjan, Ilam, Isfahan, Gilan, Kurdestan, Lorestan, Tehran, and Khuzestan provinces that compete in categories such as concept and idea, stage design, female and male acting, directing, costume design, makeup, and music.

Iran and Russia have so far invested 38 billion dollars to boost shipping lines for the North-South transport corridor which links Asia to Europe.
Addressing a gathering in the opening ceremony of an international conference dubbed “The North-South Corridor; a New Concept” in the Russian city of Astrakhan on Friday, the Iranian director of the Iranian-Russian Port of Salianka, Daryush Jamali, branded the corridor as “a key element of the Eurasian transport network”.

-- Iran participates in 66th International Belgrade Book Fair
Iran has participated in the 66th International Belgrade Book Fair, which was inaugurated on October 21 in the Serbian capital.
On the third day of the fair, three new works were unveiled in the presence of Assistant Minister for International Relations and European Integration in the Field of Culture Stanko Blagojević, cultural attaché of Iran Embassy in Belgrade Amir Pourpezeshk, and a number of Iranian and Serbian cultural and literary figures.
-- Export from Chabahar free zone rises 40% in H1
The deputy managing director of Chabahar Free Zone Organization (CFZO) said that export from this zone rose 40 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-Septemebr 22), as compared to the same period of time in the past year.
Mohammad Hodaei, the deputy head of the CFZO for economic and investment making affairs, said that the presence of active investors and benefitting from the capacity of Chabahar free zone have led to the growth of economic activities and export from this zone.
-- Restoration of Tehran’s 12th-century brick tower enters final stage
The restoration of Borj-e Toghrol, a 12th-century cylindrical tomb tower in southern Tehran, has entered its final stages, Mehr said. Located in the Rey neighborhood, the brick tower rises up to 20m and was originally topped by a conical dome that has long since collapsed. The tower, surrounded by a small walled garden, also marks the tomb of the Seljuk king Toghril Beg.
On Thursday, Ali Darabi, the deputy minister for cultural heritage, along with other relevant officials, examined the restoration work, which commenced six months ago, the report said.
