Tehran Int'l Short Film Festival introduces winners

Tehran, IRNA – The 40th Tehran International Short Film Festival concluded with the announcement of winners in various categories.

The closing ceremony was attended by Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili, and a host of cinema personalities.

The Truth-seekers Award was bestowed upon an Afghan director for the documentary “Gol-e Golab”. Nasim Soheili was the recipient of The Silk Road Prize. The Best Experimental Award was claimed by a Chinese entrant.

A French director took home the Best Documentary award, while the Best Animation award was won by an Italian director. The Grand Prix was secured by Hassan Hekmat Ravesh.

According to its official website, "The Tehran International Short Film Festival has been held for 40 consecutive years in Iran, by the Iranian Youth Cinema Society – one of the most renowned schools of cinema and short film production in Iran and throughout the world."

With more than 80 branches across the country and a family of 250,000 graduates, the Iranian Youth Cinema Society has gone through excellent educational and effective filmmaking courses, producing hundreds of short films every year and winning hundreds of awards from prestigious and prominent international film festivals in the past four decades.
