The president made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran on Sunday with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov who is on a visit to the Iranian capital for the Second round of the 3+3 Regional Platform Meeting.
Underlining that regional problems cannot be solved with the intervention of alien countries, President Raisi highlighted the significance of more enhanced cooperation among regional countries.
He referred to his earlier meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, where he said he had told his Azerbaijani counterpart that the Zionist regime is neither your friend, nor the friend of any other Muslim country, and added that the situation in Gaza is a portrait before all the regional countries so they can see that the Westerners, especially the US, are not friends of the regional countries and rather seek their racist interests.
The Azerbaijani foreign minister, for his part, said that his country attaches special significance to relations with Iran.
Bayramov said that Baku shares views with Iran that extra-regional countries have to be prevented from intervening in this region.
In another meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Tehran on the same day, President Raisi underscored the importance of establishing security across the Caucasus region.
He once again stressed that the intervention of alien countries would prove to be harmful for the regional peace and stability.
In the meantime, the Armenian foreign minister hailed Iran’s powerful stances in the face of the developments across the Caucasus region.
He said that Iranian-brokered talks among the regional countries are of key significance in this special time.
