IRCS ready to send 1st humanitarian aid consignment to Gaza

Tehran, IRNA - The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has loaded its first humanitarian aid consignment weighing about 60 tons, which includes medical and health materials and will send it to Gaza.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) announced on Friday that the shipment is supposed to be sent today and Rafah Border Crossing is also to be reopened to send international aid to the people of Gaza.

Pirhossein Kolivand, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) had earlier announced that Iran's aid will be sent to Gaza through Egypt, and the IRCS is ready to provide relief to the injured in Gaza, and is trying to remove the obstacles to sending relief items and sending medical personnel.

Earlier, the Iranian Red Crescent asked the International Red Cross to stop the attack on civilians.

Accordingly, Kolivand in official and separate letters to the heads of the International Committee of the Red Cross, their counterparts in Egypt, Syria and Lebanon, as well as the head of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent, called for the efforts of humanitarian and impartial organizations to stop the attack against civilians in Palestine.

On October 7, the Palestinian fighters launched a surprise operation, dubbed Al-Aqsa Storm, outside Gaza after Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in recent days and a record number of Palestinians were killed by Israel in recent months.

The Zionist regime responded by pounding the besieged Gaza Strip after formally declaring war against the Palestinian Hamas group.
