“An urgent human rights session should be held to investigate the crimes of the Zionist regime. It is essential to impose political and economic sanctions against the regime, and members should initiate the establishment of a court to prosecute the leaders of the Zionist regime, pilots, military commanders, and political officials,” Amirabdollahian said in an address before an urgent OIC meeting in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
“Within the framework of practical actions to support Palestine, the Islamic Republic of Iran proposes that Islamic countries coordinate actions to stop war crimes,” he declared.
Amirabdollahian condemned a complete siege imposed by the Israeli regime on Gaza, which has deprived the already blockaded Palestinian territory of water, electricity, fuel and medicine.
“Islamic countries should open corridors for the besieged people of Gaza to access drinking water, food, and medicine. Also, member countries should ask the UN Security Council to issue resolutions supporting Palestine and condemning the settlement construction of the Zionist regime,” he declared.
“The Organization of Islamic Cooperation is steadfast in its support for the Palestinian cause, and Palestine must remain the primary concern of the Islamic world,” he added.
Iran’s top diplomat strongly condemned an Israeli airstrike on a central Gaza hospital on Tuesday, which left hundreds of Palestinians dead, mostly women and children.
“The Zionist regime's action last night, resulting in the near martyrdom of about 2,000 innocent people, is not consistent with any logic. Who believes that the resistance has used such advanced bombs against their own compatriots in Gaza?” he asked.
Facing an international outcry, Israeli authorities have blamed the devastating attack on the Palestinian resistance forces.
“The Zionist regime collapsed with the resistance operation on October 7. The United States is attempting to revive the collapsed Zionist regime through a war against civilians. The United States is responsible for recent crimes,” Iran’s foreign minister noted.
“Undoubtedly, Operation Al-Aqsa Storm proved that the Palestinian cause is alive. The situation in Palestine before and after the Al-Aqsa operation will be different. This operation proved that Palestine is made up of Palestinians,” he said.
