Iran determined to strengthen missile capabilities

Tehran, IRNA - Iran's Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics has announced that the Islamic Republic of Iran is pursuing to strengthen missile and weapons capabilities based on the requirements of its national security doctrine.

Marking the end of Iran's missile sanctions in Resolution 2231 on Wednesday, Iran's Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics in a statement on Wednesday announced that as the Islamic Republic of Iran proved before, it considers this period as an opportunity to prove its authority and legitimacy plus strengthen its defense capabilities, even if some countries are not willing to implement their commitments under UN Security Council Resolution 2231 following their contradictory behaviors.

The strengthening of Iran's missile capabilities is also aimed at meeting legitimate defense requirements and laying the groundwork for the implementation of "self-defense" in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, it noted.

The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that the allegations of Iran's involvement in the Ukraine war are based on fabricated information that is solely for biased purposes, it said, noting that the roots of the conflict must be sought in the excessive demand of The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), especially the US and some European countries.

Iran’s defense ministry expects that the actions and movements of some NATO member states in support of terrorism, secessionism, and extremism that inflict more losses on the nations of the region and Iran should be put an end and NATO should learn from the experience of defeat in the region, especially in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.

Now, with the end of all arms restrictions imposed in resolution 2231, Iran's Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics will continue to pursue its plans to strengthen legal arms trade and to meet the needs of the Islamic Republic of Iran's national security, and also it will play a role in the international arena more than ever before.
