In a statement issued on Monday, Hezbollah said that its forces “inflicted losses on the enemy” after they “directly targeted” five military posts of the Zionist regime near Lebanon’s border, using “appropriate” weapons.
The Lebanese movement also said that resistance forces had targeted another Zionist military post, destroying a Merkava tank by a guided rocket.
The Israeli military has confirmed that its posts were targeted by Hezbollah, saying that it has responded by firing artillery into southern Lebanon. The regime said that no casualties had been caused by the Hezbollah operation.
Tensions remain high in southern Lebanon between Hezbollah and Israel amid the regime’s onslaught against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Hezbollah has expressed support for the October 7 unprecedented operation that Palestine’s Hamas Resistance group launched against Israel from the Gaza Strip.
