Jahromi made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the eleventh edition of the “International Training Course on Medical Aspects of Assistance and Protection against Chemical Weapons” held in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on Sunday.
Referring to the extensive use of chemical warfare during the Iraq-imposed war against Iran particularly against Iranian civilians, Jahromi underlined that Iran’s main strategy is the prohibition of all types of mass destruction weapons.
He added that the international communities must work together to prevent the use and proliferation of chemical weapons.
Stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the biggest victim of chemical weapons in the contemporary era, he noted that in the current situation, thousands of chemical victims in the country continue to suffer from the consequences of chemical weapons.
He also condemned the non-technical barriers and inhumane sanctions imposed on drugs and the treatment of chemical victims.
The 11th edition of the International Training Course on Medical Aspects of Assistance and Protection against Chemical Weapons is underway in Tehran from October 15-19.
