Iran, Pakistan discuss ways to enhance health ties

Islamabad, IRNA –  Iranian Health Minister Bahram Einollahi and Pakistan Minister of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination, Nadeem Jan have discussed ways to enhance bilateral ties in the fields related to health.

According to the Pakistan Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination cited by the IRNA on Friday, Iranian and Pakistani ministers held a meeting on the sideline of the 70th session of the World Health Organization’s Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean in Cairo, Egypt.

In this meeting, both sides discussed the new challenges facing the healthcare and conferred the ways to respond to these challenges in order to improve the offering of health services to patients and people.

Health Ministers of both countries also agreed to make joint efforts to ensure better health care by adopting best practices in both countries.

They also called for enhancing cooperation to prevent epidemics, including Dengue, and strengthen health security at common borders.

The 70th session of the World Health Organization’s Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean is being held in Cairo, Egypt, from October 9 to 12, with the theme of ‘United for a healthier future’.
