Amirabdollahian departed from Tehran for Baghdad on Thursday, where he is scheduled to meet with high-ranking Iraqi officials, including his counterpart Fuad Hussein. Following his visit to Iraq, the Iranian diplomat will proceed to Syria and Lebanon.
Before his departure, Amirabdollahian addressed reporters in Tehran, stating that the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories is the primary source of crises in West Asia.
He also said that the Zionist regime is attempting to massacre the entire population of the Gaza Strip by committing war crimes against civilians, imposing a total blockade, and depriving Palestinians of essential necessities such as electricity and water.
Amirabdollahian emphasized that the ongoing conflict in Gaza is not targeted at a specific group but affects all Palestinians.
The Foreign Minister also commented on the operation launched from the Gaza Strip against Israeli positions on October 7, describing it as a “spontaneous and fully Palestinian measure” taken in response to the continued war crimes by the Zionist regime.
