Younes Panahi, who serves as deputy health minister for research and technology, said on Wednesday that Iran’s research output in the field of pharmacology account for 27% of the total research output in the Middle East.
The official made the remarks in an address to the 26th National Congress and the 5th International Congress of Physiology and Pharmacology of Iran (PhyPha26).
The congress, which has a history of nearly 50 years, started in the north-central city of Semnan on Wednesday with the presence of more than 800 researchers and medical professors from Iran and seven other countries.
