Pursuant to Nobel’s will, the Peace Prize is awarded annually to those who have “done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.” The prize was supposed to be awarded by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, a five-member committee appointed by the Parliament of Norway, without political affiliations and only in the direction of promoting world peace.
But with the passing of time, the Peace Prize deviated from its path and became a tool to satisfy the political desires of Western countries and put pressure on the countries toward which the Westerners hold a long-standing hostility, in a way that this award can no longer be considered valid. A reward is often given to notorious Western criminals or to traitors in the East who agreed to be the West’s pawns against Eastern rivals. A prize that should be renamed "the Nobel Political Prize".
The reason for that is evident from the biographies of the people who have been awarded this prize. People like Henry Kissinger (mastermind of massive crimes in East Asia and Chile), Aung San Suu Kyi (supporter of crimes against Muslims in Myanmar), Anwar Sadat and Menachem Begin (leaders of Egypt and the Zionist regime) who legitimized the occupation of Palestine, or Shirin Ebadi, an anti-human rights non-lawyer, and now another traitor to the people and our beloved country of Iran named Narges Mohammadi.
On the other hand, a large number of people who won the Nobel Peace Prize were Americans; people like Woodrow Wilson, Theodore Roosevelt, Elihu Root, George Marshall, Emily Greene Balch, John Raleigh Mott, Cordell Hull, Jane Addams, Nicholas Murray Butler, Frank B. Kellogg, Ralph Bunche, George Catlett Marshall, Linus Carl Pauling, Elie Wiesel, Jody Williams, Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, and last but not least, Barack Obama.
A review of the process of granting the Nobel Peace Prize indicates that the Norwegian Nobel committee that determines the nominees for the prize passively pursues the United States’ policies; in spite of the fact that the country inflicted a significant blow upon global peace and security, a large number of Nobel Peace Prize laureates have been American politicians. On the other hand, individuals who criticized or protested against the political system existing in the US or Europe and those who have actively stood against these systems have never been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
However, the organizers of the prize have gradually shifted their support from criminal Western officials, in particular the Americans, to supporters of these governments in anti-West states. Those advocates claim that they pursue human rights activities against the ruling establishments in their own countries.
Actually, it is noteworthy that individuals such as Aung San Suu Kyi, Dalai Lama, Ebadi, Liu Xiaobo, Yan Rachinsky, and Alice Bialyatski received the $1 million award, an award that is effectively used against peace rather than to promote it.
Who is Narges Mohammadi?
Mohammadi is the wife of Taghi Rahmani, a ringleader of the foreign-based Religious-Nationalists faction, and a colleague of Ebadi in a group dubbed the Defenders of Human Rights Center (DHRC).
Mohammadi has also backed the imposition of sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran and has teamed up with some terrorist groups in the past. Her husband has created connections between certain anti-Iran groups including the terrorists as well as with the French intelligence service.
During the 2009 unrest in Iran, Mohammadi along with the Defenders of Human Rights Center led by Ebadi, carried out a series of activities against human rights which were deemed against the interests of the Iranian people and led to her being prohibited from departing Iran before she was arrested in May 2010. In May 2021, Mohammadi was once again sentenced to imprisonment on charges of stirring propaganda against the government, holding sit-in protests in the prison’s administration office, disobeying orders of prison authorities, breaking jail windows, and libel.
Nobel Committee claimed that such a prize has been given to Mohammadi for “her fight against the oppression of women” in line with promoting “human rights and freedom for all.” But, the question is whether her measures have been taken towards the promotion of human rights and protection of women’s status or not. There are very many Iranian women who have not even heard Mohammadi’s name.
Mohammadi is so unknown that the European media once released a photo of an Iranian artist with the same name instead of her photo as the recipient of the 2023 Peace Prize.
The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded to an individual who is in prison because she has been convicted in a country based on national laws, and this means nothing but the politicization of the issue of human rights and the meddlesome move.
When the Nobel Committee makes such anti-human rights decisions about its prize, it not only takes no step towards the establishment of peace worldwide but also questions and undermines the holy and ideological concepts of peace, freedom, and humanity.
Below is a list of some individuals with their records who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in previous years:
Henry Kissinger (whose actions led to mass crimes in East Asia and Chile), Anwar Sadat (the third Egyptian president), Menachem Begin (the sixth Israeli prime minister) who received the prize for recognizing occupation of Palestine, Mikhail Gorbachev (the last leader of Soviet Union who oversaw the disintegration of the Union), Aung San Suu Kyi (who supported crimes against Muslims in Myanmar), Dalai Lama, Ebadi, Yasser Arafat, Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres for officially recognizing the Zionist regime of Israel, Liu Xiaobo (a Chinese opposition leader), Yan Rachinsky (a Russian opposition leader), Ales Bialiatski (Belarussian opposition leader), and Woodrow Wilson, Theodore Roosevelt, Elihu Root, George Marshall, Emily Greene Balch, John Raleigh Mott, Cordell Hull, Jane Addams, Nicholas Murray Butler, Frank B. Kellogg, Ralph Bunche, George Catlett Marshall, Linus Carl Pauling, Elie Wiesel, Jody Williams, Al Gore, Jimmy Carter and the last the former US President Barack Obama, all American figures and officials.
