Iran ex-diplomat describes Iran-Pakistan ties as important in region

Islamabad, IRNA - Former President of the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Kazem Sajjadpour has termed bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan for securing peace and stability in the region as significant.

Addressing the International Conference on "Navigating Peace & Security in the Region & Beyond: Pakistan’s Role” on Friday, Sajjadi said that Tehran and Islamabad are playing a role in establishing a new order and thinking in the region.

Although some international and regional countries are not happy with the roles played by countries such as Iran and Pakistan, the ties between the two countries are considered significant for securing peace and security in the region, he underlined.

He noted that Pakistan’s mutual ties with other countries in the region, including Saudi Arabia and Turkiye, are also important for the region and can provide opportunities to strengthen multilateral relations with other countries.

He emphasized that the countries in the region have the capabilities and capacities needed for a new structure in the region, exchange of experiences, and coordinated movement in the direction of mutual benefit.

The International Conference on "Navigating Peace & Security in the Region & Beyond: Pakistan’s Role” was hosted by the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) and opened in the Pakistani capital city of Islamabad on Thursday.
