-- MSC power plant comes on stream

Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi visited the central province of Isfahan and launched the second phase of a large-scale national project that transfers water from the Sea of ​​Oman to the drought-prone province.
Raeisi arrived in Isfahan on Friday and was briefed upon arrival by the provincial officials, contractors and workers on the latest stages of progress in the implementation of the 980-kilometer water supply project.

--  Iran arms setup at Belgrade’s Partner 2023 turns heads

Iran’s towering display of 16 weapons systems at the international arms fair, Partner 2023, in Belgrade, Serbia, drew the attention of experts, especially on its unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) produced for reconnaissance or shooting purposes.
Placed center stage in Iran’s installation were anti-ship cruise missiles, air defense systems, and small-scale prototypes of the M6, Karrar, and Shahin drones. Models included the AD-75 air defense missile, with a maximum range of 75 kilometers, the CM-35 anti-ship cruise missile, with a 130-kg warhead, and Shahin vertical take-off and landing unmanned aerial system, fitted with multi-rotor propellers by China-based company T-Motor.

The spokesperson for the Tehran Fire Department talked about the high number of accidents occurring in Tehran on Iran’s national Firefighting and Safety Day, and highlighted a recent incident where a fire broke out in a 500-square-meter warehouse.
“Thanks to the quick response of our colleagues, the fire was contained and no one was injured,” said Jalal Maleki.

--  Mehregan Theater Stages ‘Chamber Music’

‘Chamber Music’ a 1962 one-act play by American absurdist playwright Arthur Kopit is on stage at Mehregan Theater in Tehran. The story is set in 1938 and concerns eight famous women from different historical periods who all are interned in the same insane asylum.
The Iranian performance of ‘Chamber Music’ is directed by Sara Daru-Forush and the cast includes Avina Baqaei, Arezou Irankhah, Kimia Samadi, Hamideh Haghdel and Farhan Azizi among others.

--  First Green Hotel Opens on Kish Island

Head of Kish Free Zone Organization Rahim Sarhangi has said that Iran has opened its first green hotel on the Persian Gulf Island of Kish. Sarhangi made the announcement on Wednesday as a ceremony was held to officially open the friendly environment hotel called Arya Bastan.
Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Ezatollah Zarghami was present at the ceremony through video conference.

-- Iran Urges Netherlands to Stop Desecration of Qur’an

Iran has vehemently condemned the repeated desecration of the Holy Qur’an in the Netherlands, urging the European country to respect the sensibilities of billions of Muslims around the world.
“The Dutch government is expected to understand its responsibilities towards preventing insult against the values and religious sanctities of the world’s more than two-billion-strong Muslim population,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan’ani said.

--  Iran asks for independence in addressing Afghanistan’s crises

 Iran has asked neighboring countries to help solve Afghanistan’s grave issues “without relying on foreign states”.

During the 5th meeting of the Moscow Format on Afghanistan held in Russia’s Kazan on Friday, the Iranian president's special envoy for Afghanistan slammed Washington’s 20-year occupation of the country. 

--  Iran’s post-Covid tourism growth three times higher than global average, minister says

Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism has said the country’s tourism growth has been three times higher compared to the global average in the post-Covid era. “The number of tourist arrivals has surged in the last two years due to the fact that we were facing some restrictions derived from the Corona pandemic,” Ezzatollah Zarghami stated.

He made the remarks in an inauguration ceremony of 188 tourist projects in Iran, Mehr reported on Wednesday. The event took place on the occasion of World Tourism Day 2023, which falls on September 27.

--  Iran planning health co-op groups with Africa, Latin America

Mohammad-Hossein Niknam, the deputy health minister for international affairs, has said Iran is planning to form health cooperation groups with some Latin American and African countries.

Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Iraq, and the World Health Organization are members of G5. Earlier this group had five members, but now it has changed into G5+.
