In the second section, the foreign ministers consulted these issues with the UN special envoy for Syria.

In the meeting, the parties underlined that the economic woes, West-imposed sanctions, terrorism, and the presence of ISIS terrorist group are still major challenges in certain parts of Syria, he noted, adding that the foreign ministers asked the UN representative to propose an action plan and provide financial aid to create the essential infrastructure for the return of Syrian migrants and refugees to their homeland.

The Iranian foreign minister also said that simultaneously, solutions were suggested in a bid to ease misunderstandings as well as border disputes between Damascus and Ankara; so, we hope that we can resolve the remaining issues within the framework of the ongoing Astana Peace Process talks or in a quadrilateral format involving Iran, Syria, Russia, and Turkiye in the near future.
