Minister of Foreign Affairs. Gustavo Manrique, in the meeting with his Iranian counterpart on the sidelines of the 78th UNGA session in New York, announced his country's readiness to develop relations with Iran in various fields.
He termed "infrastructure, energy, tourism, culture, fisheries and aquatics" as the fields of cooperation between the two countries.
Manrique said that his country will continue joint consultations and discussions to strengthen the relations between the two states.
Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian in the meeting considered the strengthening of relations with Latin American countries so important for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He said that he has had a visit to Latin America with Iranian President and hopes that in the next time, the officials of the countries will meet in Ecuador to strengthen bilateral relations.
AmirAbdollahian also congratulated Ecuador on the membership of the UN Security Council and added that the constructive positions of the country will bring credibility to the Security Council.
