Ronaldo arrived in Tehran on Tuesday with the Saudi football club Al Nassr, which is set to face off against Iran’s Persepolis for their opening match of the AFC Champions League.
The team members were met with an overenthusiastic welcome by fans, particularly due to Ronaldo's presence in the Saudi Arabian team.
Chanting “Ronaldo, Ronaldo,” the fans filled the corridors and public spaces of the Espinas Palace Hotel in northern Tehran.
Consequently, the training session for Al-Nassr at Azadi Stadium was called off as the players seemed unwilling to leave their hotel.
