Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana made the remarks during a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Islamabad Reza Amiri Moghaddam, on Saturday.
The two officials exchanged views on the state of bilateral cooperation, particularly focusing on border transactions, customs procedures, and the activation of border markets between Iran and Pakistan.
Zubair ensured that Pakistan would work to resolve customs issues to bolster the volume of trade with neighboring Iran.
Ambassador Amiri Moghaddam, in turn, highlighted the potential of the Mirjaveh-Taftan border market to boost bilateral trade.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of opening additional gates at the Mirjaveh-Taftan border crossing to ensure smooth cross-border transportation and facilitate the movement of citizens between the two countries.
