Haidar made the comment on Thursday during a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Islamabad Reza Amiri Moghaddam, said a press release by the Public Relations Office of Pakistan’s Defense Ministry.
According to the ministry, the Pakistani official announced his country’s commitment to further develop ties with Iran, saying that Islamabad has taken all necessary measures in managing borders, countering terrorism and dealing with criminals.
Haidar also thanked Iran for its continuous support to Pakistan, and hailed the “unbreakable bond” between the two countries, as well as their historical and brotherly ties.
The Iranian envoy, on his part, praised Pakistan’s defense capabilities and said that the two neighboring countries have numerous capacities to expand their defense cooperation.
Iran can help Pakistan in the energy sector as well, Amiri Moghaddam added.
The two also discussed regional issues, including the resumption of ties this year between Iran and Saudi Arabia, which the Pakistani defense minister described as a positive measure to promote peace and stability in the Persian Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz.
