A man carried out a rifle attack against the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran in late January in which an embassy staff was killed and three others were wounded, while inflicting damages to parts of the assets of the embassy, the IRNA reported on Wednesday.
Salehi said that the court has thoroughly probed into the case and issued an indictment calling for the harshest punishment of the attacker for “committing murder of an Azerbaijani national by means of firearm inside the embassy, the purchase, holding and keeping unauthorized arms and weapons, including an AK-47 rifle and a pistol, and disruption of public order”.
He added that the case is still open for further investigation of other charges including causing destruction, and inflicting intentional injury to three embassy personnel.
