During the hearing, the three main perpetrators of the terrorist attack were tried with the presence of the defendants, their lawyers, the parents of the two martyrs of the attack, and a group of those who were injured as well as witnesses at the Islamic Revolution Court of Shiraz, presided over by Judge Seyed Mahmoud Sadati, the IRNA reported on Sunday.
The Shiraz prosecutor’s representative read out the accusations against the number one suspect, Rahmatollah Nowruzof, including corruption on earth and membership in the Daesh terrorist group with the intention of acting against the country’s security.
Shirazian said the accusations against the number two and number three suspects, Habibollah Arabzadeh and Amrollah Nazari, include collaboration in corruption on earth and in acting against the country’s security through cooperation with Daesh.
The chief suspect accepted the charges against him, saying, “I did not count the number of people I targeted, and my intention was to continue the operation until the last bullet in the magazine.”
At the end of the hearing, Judge Sadati said the trial will continue in the next session.
Two people were killed and seven others injured in an armed terrorist attack on the Shah Cheragh shrine in Iran’s southern city of Shiraz on August 13, the second such attack on the site in less than a year.
