Iran calls for more Chinese investment in its free zones

Tehran, IRNA – The secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council of Free Trade-Industrial and Special Economic Zones has invited China to make investments in Iranian free zones. Tehran, IRNA – The secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council of Free Trade-Industrial and Special Economic Zones, Hojatollah Abdolmaleki, has invited China to make investments in Iranian free zones.

The invitation was made at a press conference held on the sidelines of the 23rd China International Fair for Investment and Trade in Xiamen, China, on Saturday.

Abdolmaleki stated that Iran has facilitated the presence of foreign investors and there are no hindrances to their activities in the Iranian zones.

He also invited Chinese investors to visit Iran’s pavilion at the exhibition to receive investment packages.

Abdolmaleki noted that there are both long-term and permanent customs duty waivers in Iran’s free zones, making them attractive for investors due to the low price of raw materials and energy.

He also mentioned that over 200,000 types of products are being manufactured by oil and gas, providing opportunities for Iran and China to expand cooperation in these fields.

“Our fundamental policy on managing free zones is expansion of investment,” he said.

The 23rd International Fair for Investment and Trade kicked off in Xiamen, China on September 8 and will run for four days.
