“I congratulate the government, the nation and Mr. Mauro Vieira, the foreign minister of that country, on the National Day of Brazil,” Amirabdollahian wrote in a post on his X (Twitter) social media account on Friday.
He also expressed hope that due to the special status of Brazil in the BRICS group of emerging economies and Iran’s accession in the group, “we will witness the strengthening of the long-standing relations between the two countries in all political and commercial fields.”
In their annual summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, in late August, BRICS leaders announced that six new members, including Iran, Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, will join the bloc in the near future.
