The National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) will enjoy domestic new technology-based firms’ (NTBFs) cooperation to accelerate the implementation of a project for improving the quality of mazut.
NIORDC Managing Director Jalil Salari made the remarks in a ceremony to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with an Iranian NTBF on the enhancement of the quality of mazut.

Iran exported around 16,000 tons of pistachios, valued at about $110 million, to 44 countries in the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 to August 22), announced the head of the foreign trade office of the Central Organization for Rural Cooperatives of Iran.
During the period, 15,981 tons of quality pistachios, valued at $109.714 million, were exported from Iran to 44 countries, showing a six percent growth in weight, and a one percent decline in value, compared to the same period last year, said Rouhollah Latifi.

An exhibition of photographs titled ‘Postcards from Mexico and Iran’ is currently on display at the Iranian Art Museum Garden, showcasing a collection of 80 photographs capturing the essence of both countries’ cultural treasures.
According to organizers, this exhibition aims to offer a visual exploration of the less-explored facets of Mexico and Iran, emphasizing their enduring cultural identities amidst evolving landscapes.
The exhibition, which opened on September 4 and runs until September 13, features the works of prominent photographers Manuel Cerón from Mexico and Patrick Ringgenberg from Switzerland. Their photographs, measuring 30 by 45cm, provide an intimate perspective on landscapes, religious sites, and everyday life in both countries.

-- Iran Marks Day of Abu Rayhan Biruni
Abu Rayhan al-Biruni was an icon of Islamic Civilization who explored various religions, beliefs, rituals, customs, philosophies, and sciences to build perspectives on human growth throughout history.
The most original polymath the Islamic world had ever known, al-Biruni was born in Khwarazm, in present-day Uzbekistan. He was educated by a Khwarazm prince, Abu Nasr Mansur, a member of the ruling family of Khwarezm, or the Afrighids.
In his own poem preserved in a medieval biographical dictionary, al-Biruni stated that he didn’t know much about his family background.
-- Asian Black Bear Sighted in Kahnouj
An Asian black bear has been spotted in the heights of Kahnouj, in the southeastern Iranian province of Kerman, the local Environmental Protection Department announced. The Environmental Protection Department urged the citizens not to approach the animal, which is on the red list of endangered species, and refrain from hunting it.
The region is a habitat of different species of leopards, wolves, bears, goats, pigs and sheep, as well as indigenous and migratory birds and reptiles. Asian black bears, teetering on the edge of extinction, can be found in tiny numbers in Japan, China, Russia, Taiwan, India, Nepal, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran.
-- NPC to Create $150bn Investment Opportunities in Petrochemical Industry
The chief executive of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Morteza Shahmirzaei on Monday said that about $15 billion worth of investment opportunities are being prepared in the petrochemical industry for the next 10 years.
Speaking in the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a Chinese consortium for providing technical know-how and implementation of the petro-olefin project of Fanavaran Petrochemical Company, Shahmirzaei said that signing the MoU with the subsidiary companies of the Tamin Petrochem & Petrochemical Investment Company (TAPPICO) will be the outset of the development of future cooperation of Iran’s petrochemical industry with Chinese firms.

-- Iran and Saudi Arabian matches to be played home-and-away
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) confirmed that all matches between the national teams and clubs of the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) and Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) will take place on a home-and-away basis.
The welcome development follows a groundbreaking agreement between the FFIRI and SAFF today, which has been duly communicated to the AFC.
-- Iran’s oil export continues upward trend in August, surging 54%: report
Iran’s oil exports continued their upward trend in August to reach 1.85 million barrels per day (bpd), Bloomberg reported, citing TankerTrackers.com which provides data on oil cargoes to governments, insurers and other institutions.
The increase in Iranian shipments comes in the same month that key OPEC+ producers Saudi Arabia and Russia kept a lid on their own oil exports in a bid to tighten the market, the report said. According to the TankerTrackers data, Iranian crude exports topped two million barrels a day in the first 20 days of August, the highest this year.
