The parliament commission issued a statement on the occasion of National Day of Fight against British Colonialism, which coincides with the day commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Rais Ali Delvari, a national hero in Iran who organized popular resistance against British colonial forces that had invaded the Asian country in 1915.
In the statement, the commission asked the Foreign Ministry to take action by the use of all international mechanisms such as legal means against the hostile measures of the British government against the Iranian nation, including imposing sanctions under the pretext of unfounded reasons as well as following up cruel and illegal sanctions imposed by the United States against Iran; aiding and abetting terrorist networks and insurgent groups; and engaging in all-out confrontation with the Islamic Republic.
The parliamentary committee also underlined the prestigious status of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) as the official military force of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who are the major fighters in the combat against terrorism and the Daesh terrorist group, considering unfounded accusations against the IRGC by the UK government in contradiction with London’s claims on pursuing the fight against terrorism, especially Daesh.
