Iran, Iraq ministers discuss Arbaeen pilgrims' health on phone

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Health Minister Bahram Einollahi and his Iraqi counterpart Salih Mahdi Motlab al-Hasnawi have discussed providing health services to Iranian pilgrims during the Arbaeen pilgrimage in a telephone conversation.

Einollahi expressed his appreciation for the cooperation of Iraqi medical personnel in providing services to Iranian pilgrims and called for better medical services for them.

He also praised the Iraqi Ministry of Health’s cooperation in transferring injured pilgrims to Iran following several road accidents.

Einollahi stated that necessary measures have been taken to ensure the health of Arbaeen pilgrims in Iran, with health and medical personnel, and paramedics deployed to eight border crossings.

The Iraqi health minister reported that some 22 million pilgrims visited Iraq during the Arbaeen March and that personnel from the Iraqi Ministry of Health, alongside Iranian medical personnel, provided services to injured Iranian pilgrims.
