Russian academic praises Iran’s policy of resisting Western hegemony

Moscow, IRNA – Vladimir Davydov, the Scientific Director of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Institute of Latin America, believes that Iran’s membership in BRICS could help the group of emerging economies achieve even greater success.

In an interview with IRNA, Davydov praised Iran’s ability to overcome Western hegemony and demonstrate its diplomatic skills.

He also stated that Iran could teach diplomacy and other lessons to the group, as it has faced many challenges.

Davydov also expressed his support for Iran’s membership in BRICS.

All five BRICS members agreed during a summit in Johannesburg to admit six new members into the bloc, including Iran, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, Egypt, Argentina, and the United Arab Emirates.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who participated in the three-day summit, said after the meeting that the country’s accession to the group will boost its political and economic clout.
