Iran's culture min. condoles passing of veteran Lebanese journalist Talal Salman

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili has expressed his condolences in a message over the passing of the prominent Lebanese journalist, Talal Salman.

Talal Salman, the founder and editor-in-chief of Lebanon’s renowned ‘As-Safir’ newspaper, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023, at the age of 85. Salman was born in 1938 and founded ‘As-Safir’ in 1974, which quickly became one of Lebanon’s most famous newspapers and was known as “The Voice of the Voiceless.”

In his message on Sunday, Esmaeili termed Talal Salman as a prominent veteran in the journalism world, and an innovative pioneer in the fields of culture, literature, and politics.

He also sympathized with journalists worldwide over the loss of this veteran Lebanese journalist.
