-- Tehran hosts conference on combating money laundering, financing terrorism

The National Conference on Combating Money Laundering and Financing Terrorism was held in Tehran on Tuesday.
Addressing the conference, Iran’s minister of economic affairs and finance said that Iran’s position in interaction with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is active, not passive.

--  Iran among five producers of heavy water

Heavy water is the second strategic nuclear material after uranium in the world and Iran is one of the five countries producing this compound with high purity and production efficiency which many countries are looking to buy despite sanctions.
Under the 2015 nuclear deal, Iran is allowed to use heavy water in its modified Arak nuclear reactor, but must sell any excess supply of both heavy water and enriched uranium on the international market.

--  Iran exports aquatic products to China, Russia

Iran’s aquatics export has found its way to Chinese and Russian markets, said Seyyed Hossein Hosseini, the head of Iranian Fisheries Organization (IFO).
Iran produces 1.352 million tons of fishery products per annum, of which 751,000 tons pertains to fishing and 601,000 tons in the field of aquaculture in the Middle East, the official noted.

--  Tehran Museum to Host Session on Ghahve-Khan Paintings

Tehran’s Museum of Contemporary Art will host a session on Thursday to review the role of imagination and mythology in the visual representation of Ghahve-Khaneh paintings, a folk-narrative style of Iranian painting mostly seen in coffee houses.
The session is part of the specialized sessions series of the “Still Ongoing” exhibition which reviews the reflection of the Ashura movement in contemporary visual arts. Art scholars and researchers Ramtin Shahbazi, Mehdi Khanekeh, and Muhammad-Reza Vahidzadeh will attend the session.

--  Tabriz Jame Mosque is an Architectural Jewel

Tabriz Jame Mosque is one of the historical attractions of East Azarbaijan Province. Also known as the Grand Mosque and Jame Kabiri Mosque, it is considered as one of the oldest historical buildings and tourist attractions in Tabriz.
According to historians, it has been used as the central mosque of the city since its construction. In the underground and the old praying room, there are some pieces of colorful stucco textures that belong to the Seljuq and Ilkhani Dynasty. There is an inscription with a length of 18.8 meters and a width of 1.4 meters. It is written in Kufic calligraphy.

--  Iran Goalball Team Beats Greece at IBSA World Games

Iran’s goalball team beat Thailand 8-6 at the 2023 IBSA World Games on Tuesday. The Iranian players beat Greece 8-6, in their second game of the competition, which was held in Birmingham, England.
Team Melli will play Argentina in their third game in Group B. Earlier in the first match, Iran’s men’s goalball team lost to Ukraine 10-3.

-- Tractor’s hopes dashed by Sharjah: 2023/24 ACL Playoff

Iran’s Tractor lost to Sharjah FC of United Arab Emirates 3-1 in the 2023/24 AFC Champions League playoff on Tuesday.

It was the visitors who struck first in the 25th minute, former AS Roma and FC Barcelona man Miralem Pjanic showing his accuracy with a perfect delivery for Shaheen to thump home past Tractor goalkeeper Hossein Pourhamidi in Tabriz’s Yadegar Emam Stadium.

--  7th Arbaeen Pilgrimage Intl. Theater Festival set to begin at Iranian borders

 The 7th edition of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage International Theater Festival will commence at the Iranian borders with Iraq on Wednesday, the director of the Art Bureau's Center for Dramatic Arts Kurosh Zarei said in a press conference on Tuesday. 

Organized by Iran’s Art Bureau, the festival will be held in both countries of Iran and Iraq, coinciding with the large gathering of Shia Muslims in Iraq.

-- Iran’s booming oil exports exceed 2m bpd: report

Iran’s oil exports continue to increase in August, surging above two million barrels per day (bpd) which is their highest since the beginning of the year, Bloomberg reported on Monday citing TankerTrackers data.

It was already known that Iran's shipments were surging, but the data for August would represent a marked leg higher if maintained for the remainder of the period. The flow rate for the past 28 days shows shipments running at a rate of 2.1 million barrels a day, the Bloomberg report said.

As reported, TankerTrackers’ satellite images show a new surge in Iran's flows in August amid the reduction in the supplies of other top exporters.
