** IRAN DAILY

-- Textile industry posts 17.1% growth

The textile industry grew by 17.1% last Iranian calendar year (ended March 20) which was the highest figure in all industrial sectors of Iran, said Mohsen Gorji, the director general of the department of textiles and clothing industries at the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.
“Last year, we witnessed a significant growth in industrial infrastructure and technology of textile industry sector as one of the main targets of the industry is to enhance the exports that leads to fetch more forex into the country,” Gorji added.

--  Annual exports of Iranian cooperatives top $1.5b: Deputy minister

Non-oil goods worth over $1.5 billion were exported by the cooperative sector during the past Iranian year (ended March 20), announced deputy minister of cooperatives, labor, and social welfare.
Speaking at a press conference in Tehran on Sunday, Mehdi Maskani said his ministry had targeted $1.8 billion of exports by Iranian cooperatives for the current Iranian year.
There are 101,000 cooperatives active across the country, noted the official, adding that smartening and boosting efficiency are among the important services of the cooperative sector of Iran.

--  Water transfer from Persian Gulf to feed industries in central Iran

The water transmission line that will distribute water from the Persian Gulf is the driving force for the development of mining industries in the central regions of Iran, said the managing director of the Persian Gulf Water Supply and Transmission Company (WASCO).
Speaking on the measures and plans of his company, Ehsan Ansari noted that in the first phase of the project, 130 million cubic meters of water will be delivered to the large mining complexes in a pipeline that is comprised of three sections with a total length of 830 km.

-- Iran Summons Swedish, Danish Envoys Over Desecrations

Iran’s foreign ministry on Sunday summoned the Swedish and Danish charges d’affaires in Tehran to protest the burning and damaging of copies of the Qur’an in the two countries.

“Iran lays the full responsibility and the serious repercussions of the Holy Koran’s desecration on the Swedish and Danish governments,” the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s human rights department said.

--  Abadan to Host ECO Refining Companies

TEHRAN – The Abadan Oil Refining Company in southwest Iran will host the first meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states’ refining companies next month. Chief Executive of Abadan Oil Refining Company Hakim Qayyem announced, adding that the meeting will be held in the Arvand Free Zone and attended both by domestic and foreign refiners.
According to him, the National Iranian Oil Products Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) selected the Abadan Oil Refining Company as the host of the ECO member states’ refining companies’ heads and honorary guests from Basra and Karbala. The participants will discuss the formation of an ECO refining industry association, he added.

--  IMIDRO: Iran Produces 218,000 Tons of Aluminum Ingot

Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) reported on Sunday that the country has produced more than 218,000 tons of aluminum ingot in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar (March 21 to July 22).
Four major aluminum production companies of the country managed to produce 218,532 tons of aluminum ingot from March 21 to July 22, showing a two percent decline compared to the same period of last year.

-- Israeli regime falling, resistance front upping: Quds Force chief

The commander of the IRGC Quds Force asserted on Saturday that the Israeli regime is waning as he hailed Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani for his contributions to fortifying the resistance front in the vital West Asia region.

Brigadier General Esmail Qaani made the comments in a gathering of the 24th Supreme Assembly of IRGC Commanders in Tehran. Given the decline of the Israeli regime in the region, he said that “today, the Axis of Resistance has the upper hand against the Zionist regime.”

--  Iran’s cinema organization investigates recent film piracy

The Cinema Organization of Iran (COI) has launched an investigation into the illegal release of some pirated movies, an official with the organization has announced. 

A comprehensive investigation had been ordered by the director of the organization into the recent illegal release of movies such as “Subtraction” by Mani Haqiqi, and “Without Her” by Arian Vazirdaftari on social media, Jafar Ansarifar said on Sunday.

--  Iran’s natural gas export rises 16%

 Iran’s natural gas exports in the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21) increased by 16 percent compared to the previous year, according to the managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).

According to Majid Chegeni, the country’s annual liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exports also registered a 22 percent increase this year.
