IRGC forces US warship entering Persian Gulf to land its helicopters

Tehran, IRNA – The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) have forced a US warship entering the Persian Gulf to land their helicopters and avoid approaching the territorial waters of Iran, according to a footage published by force.

The footage was published on Sunday in the closing hours of a meeting of IRGC's Supreme Assembly of Commanders.

It showed IRGC forces warning the US warship that it should land helicopters that were flying near the Iranian territorial waters or they will be fired at by the IRGC.

US forces then obey the command and land the helicopters, according to the video.

Commander of the IRGC Navy Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri said after the footage was screened that IRGC naval forces are closely monitoring American military movements in the Strait of Hormuz.

He also emphasized that there is no need for trans-regional forces to be present in the Persian Gulf, adding that Iran and neighboring countries are cooperating to guarantee the security of the strategic waterway.
