Pointing to important measures taken by the Iranian Ministry of Health regarding Hepatitis C in the country, Karimi said on Saturday that Hepatitis C treatment is fully covered by insurance, and patients are treated free of charge.
The country's Health Ministry plan is to eradicate Hepatitis C, he said, adding that in this regard a large number of patients have been identified and up to now about 600 individuals have been treated free of charge.
Hepatitis C is a viral infection that causes liver inflammation, sometimes leading to serious liver damage. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) spreads through contaminated blood.
