During a meeting with Indonesian ambassador to Iran Ronny Prasetyo Yuliantoro in Urmia, provincial capital of West Azarbaijan province on Saturday, Motamedian pointed to the capacities that existed in the province for bolstering ties with various countries, including Indonesia, adding that they are ready to cooperate with Indonesian businesspersons.
Referring to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s recent visit to Indonesia, he added that the deepening of mutual ties, especially in the field of the economy, with Indonesia as the most populous country in the Islamic world is significant.
Motamedian noted that it is possible to use the capacity of the Chabahar corridor to Maku and Europe for transporting goods from Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia.
He also welcomed the proposed sisterhood ties between west Azarbaijan province with one of Indonesia's provinces.
