The funeral ceremony of Esmaeili was held on Wednesday with the participation of a group of artists, and students from the Vahdat Hall in Tehran.
Esmaeili died at the age of 89 on August 13, 2023, due to illness in Tehran. He was the student of Iran's greatest contemporary Tonbak player Hossein Tehrani.
In the 1980s, he established the group of Iranian music teachers headed by Faramarz Payvar (Iranian composer and santur player) and was accompanied by Jalil Shahnaz (Persian classical music musician and a virtuoso of the Persian musical instrument, tar), Ali-Asghar Bahari (kamancheh player) and Mohammad Mousavi (ney player). They made several trips to European, Asian, and American countries.
Esmaeili holds a first-class degree in art from Iran's Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, equivalent to a PhD.
