Safari, who is on a visit to Turkiye, met and held talks with two senior officials of the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources on Tuesday to discuss the expansion of cooperation in the field of energy.
Referring to long-term cooperation between Iran and Turkiye in the field of energy, he emphasized Iran’s readiness to continue, fortify and diversify the cooperation.
In addition to oil, gas, and petroleum products, the necessary infrastructure has been provided in the field of electricity exchange, and in the near future we will witness the beginning of electricity exchange between the two countries, he added.
The Turkish side also described cooperation with Iran in the field of gas and electricity as important and expressed hope that given the existing capacities in the new era, the scope of cooperation would be expanded between Iran and Turkiye.
