The representative of the Supreme Leader in the Foundation Hossein Rouhaninejhad appointed Gholamreza Salehi as its new head, the IRNA reported on Sunday.
Salehi replaces Akbar Nikzad who said in a ceremony on Sunday that some 13,000 housing units in rural and impoverished regions of Iran had been renovated under his watch over the past two years.
Construction process for 488,000 housing units started in the same period of which 158,000 units have already been delivered to home owners, Nikzad said.
The Housing Foundation of Islamic Revolution was founded on April 10, 1979 upon an order by the founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini (RA).
The Foundation is primarily tasked with providing affordable housing to poor people in Iran. Its other duties include development of Iran's villages and impoverished regions.
