Tottenham reaches verbal deal with Iran’s Taremi: Italian journalist

Tehran, IRNA – Italian journalist Nicolo Schira has confirmed that the Iranian national football team's striker, Mehdi Taremi, has reached a verbal agreement with Tottenham Hotspur F.C.

Schira confirmed the verbal agreement between Taremi and Tottenham Hotspur F.C., meaning an official deal has yet to be finalized.

He wrote on his Twitter account on Monday that “Talks in progress for Mehdi Taremi to Tottenham from Porto for €25M. The striker has an agreement in principle with THFC for a contract until 2026".

“Jorge Mendes working to move Mehdi Taremi, who could leave Porto. Tottenham are interested in him and have opened talks," he added.

He noted that “The striker asks a contract until 2026 with option for 2027”.

Tottenham Hotspur and Porto have reportedly started talking about Mehdi Taremi’s move to London amid the uncertainty surrounding Harry Kane’s future.

Porto have asked for €30m to issue a permission slip for Taremi who has a contract with the team for another year, but Tottenham are seeking an agreement with Porto with a €24m offer.

Taremi, who left Rio Ave for Porto in 2020, stood out at the Estadio do Dragao last season, amassing an astonishing 31 goals and 14 assists from 51 competitive appearances.
