“Due to violations and deviations from the goals, issues, duties and authorities of Kanoon Sarafan Iraanian, the agreement to establish this association issued by the Central Bank has been revoked, and the dissolution of the aforementioned association has been put on the agenda,” the CBI said in a statement.
It further explained that among the most important violations committed by the association are disobeying the orders of the CBI and not cooperating with it in managing currency fluctuations in the country.
In recent months, Iran’s national currency rial hit its lowest rate against the dollar, partly due to the US-led sanctions against the country.
