Two killed as trainer aircraft crashes in northern Iran

An instructor and an aviation student were killed in the crash, according to a CAA statement on Monday.

A senior official in the organization responsible for investigating incidents said that the crash happened at 05:45 local time (02:15 GMT).

Hassan Rezaeifar noted that the trainer aircraft belonged to Botia Mahan Aviation College.

He went on to say that a team has been dispatched to the scene to investigate the incident.

Payam International Airport is located 40 kilometers west of Tehran near the Iranian city of Karaj in Alborz province.
