Ahmadian made the remarks in a meeting held on the sidelines of the 13th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisers and High Representatives on National Security in Johannesburg, South Africa, with Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission of the Chinese Communist Party Wang Yi.
Iran hopes that through negotiations and interactions, the two sides will take advantage of the potential of cooperation in the Belt-Road Initiative and other fields to achieve more benefits for the two countries, he said.
Yi, for his part, said that China continues to support Iran in maintaining national sovereignty and dignity.
Beijing emphasizes protecting national security and will stand against the foreigners’ interference in Iran's internal affairs, he added.
China is willing to strengthen ties with Iran to implement the comprehensive cooperation plan between China and Iran, build the Belt-Road Initiative, and help Iran with economic conditions.
