'Territorial integrity matters in Iran’s relations with amicable states'

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian deputy president for parliamentary affairs Mohammad Hosseini says the Islamic Republic's priority in establishing amicable ties with other countries is to protect its territorial integrity and national sovereignty.

Hosseini made the remarks in a Sunday meeting with Chen Gang, a member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). 

He said in the meeting that the level of collaboration between Tehran and Beijing has significantly developed in recent years and that President Ebrahim Raisi's trip to China in March was a turning point in efforts to expand comprehensive ties between the two nations.

The official said that high-ranking officials of both countries are determined to make operational the 25-year Iran-China partnership program, adding that delegations have been exchanged between the two countries to accelerate the implementation of bilateral agreements. 

Chen, for his part, emphasized in the meeting that China has a special regard for the Iranian culture and civilization and that the Chinese authorities seriously pursue the expansion of ties with Iran. 

The Chinese official added that one of the objectives of the CCP delegation's visit to Tehran is to pursue the implementation of mutual agreements between the two countries.
