Iranian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jihad Mojtaba Khayyam Nekouei and Malaysian Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Mohamad Sabu met on Sunday and discussed developing and deepening mutual ties in the field of agriculture and technology exchanges.
They inked an MoU to expand the joint educational and research cooperation between the two countries.
The signed MoU will significantly increase the two countries' trade balance, Khayyam Nekouei, said adding that Malaysia has good experiences in the halal field, and the two countries would have very close cooperation in this area.
Sabu, for his part, said that his country is willing to share Iran’s experience and technical knowledge in various fields, especially the cultivation of rice without water, as well as poultry and farming caviar.
Establishing a joint research station for tropical fruits and the genetic exchange of these fruits, providing joint research opportunities in watershed management, fisheries, gardening, irrigation, and plant conservation, plus holding short periods and joint workshops are the most important themes of the inked MoU between the two countries.
