President Aliyev made the remarks while speaking to reporters at an event dubbed “new media in the 4th industrial revolution” in the city of Shusha, in western Azerbaijan, on Friday.
He said he was sure that IRNA will play a key role in efforts to enhance relations between Iran and Azerbaijan, adding that responsible media can help strengthen relations between neighboring countries.
Aliyev stressed that the more people in Iran know about his country’s regional cooperation agenda, the more useful the launch of IRNA's new website will be.
IRNA chief Ali Naderi was also attending the three-day event in Shusha where he ordered the launch of the Azeri-language website of Iran’s official news agency.
